Hello Kiddies, Parents/Caregivers, and Teachers!
Over the Moon, an American-Chinese computer animated musical was released last Fall 2020 on NetFlix. It did not garner as much attention at the time. However, this Friday, February 12, 2021 is Chinese New Year. Over the Moon is a wonderful story of love & loss, honor & loyalty, and healing & family. These are wonderful themes to build upon to have meaningful conversations about resilience after hardship, uncertainty, and loss, which are timely topics during this time. This would be a wonderful opportunity to develop cultural and diversity awareness.
Netflix: Over the Moon has provided a workshop/DIY section with interactive activities, here. This section provides so many activities including, a chance to build a rocket, create the characters, and even sheet music and so much more. Each activity has downloadable .pdfs and video instruction as well. These would be amazing activities to engage during or after watching the film!
